Brian is a true native to the hill towns of Western Massachusetts! With family roots stemming directly from Charlemont and Colrain, some of his earliest memories fishing were made here on the Deerfield River. As a youngster Brian spent most of his time developing a deep love and respect for the outdoors in the High peaks area of the Adirondacks hiking, camping, fishing, and absorbing nature itself. With his involvement in the BSA and by the guidance of his father, Brian learned the qualities of being a true steward of the land and waters that surround him, qualities he now shares with his family and friends today. As a teenager Brian moved back to the hill towns and now resides in Colrain surrounded by some of the best fly fishing in New England.
Being an avid outdoorsman and trout bum, most days start with watching the sunrise on the river or in the woods and end in the same sort of fashion. When not on the river or wondering the woods, Brian can be found spending quality time with family.

Kara grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts and spent her summers fishing with family in Scituate. As she grew up, she discovered her love for the outdoors and wildlife. Kara began fly fishing in western MA in 2015. Her passion for fishing deepened during a battle with depression. Fishing and being out in nature has many mental health benefits and quickly became a form of therapy for her. Being out in nature significantly reduces stress and sounds of the water, leaves blowing, and the birds evoke feelings of peace and tranquility. Focusing on the intricacies of fly fishing helped clear her mind and provided a meditative experience. Since it was a major part of her recovery, Kara now shares her passion with others as the Director of Events and Community Outreach Coordinator at Hilltown Anglers. In 2023, Kara started training as a guide for upcoming seasons!
